Travelled to Cochin (Ernakulam) by Kallada Volvo on September 2nd 7:30pm with my wife. We had already booked the 1st and 2nd seats (Behind driver) as my 6feet 2 inches height is harrassed by the incline of the seats in front. We reached Kallaipalayam at 7:20Pm only to find out that the Volvo had left for Madiwala and we accomodated in a Tata Semi Sleeper till Madiwala. The first look at the waiting Volvo at Madiwala sunk my heart as it was a previous generation one with Drum brakes. The bus started at 8:30pm and that esd the start of a horrible journey. The driver didnt have any consideration for the passengers trying to sleep. He flung the bus around at will. The bus shuddered like a plane caught in turbulence everytime we hit a pot hole. The driver had installed a Pressure horn (most probably an after factory job) and he blew that horn all night. Also he accelerated and deaccelerated after like every 5 minutes causing me to be flung out of seat at intervals. I would anyday want to travel by a Train or a Sleeper bus.

Travelled by Shama transport Volvo ( yes the black colored buses with Gold Class written on it ! ) on Friday night 17/4/09 from Cochin to Bangalore. I must report that it is not gold class and has no class!! The bus stopped a little while after Coimbatore in a Petrol bunk and we were asked to change buses !! We go into an older shama volvo and soon enough we stopped at another petrol bunk to assist another Shama Volvo. The driver fiddled around at the back of the bus and wasted more time. Subsequently our AC stopped working or was not turned on. And we suffered a suffocating journey to Bangalore to reach 2 and half hours late at Madivala!! The driver nor conductor does not explain why we had to go through all this inconvenience and was the least bothered. The company is a third rate outfit and did not even offer to refund part of the AC bus fare!! I hear this company belongs to some well to do businessman in Bangalore. I am sure he must made his money ripping off the common traveller. SHAM transport is a very unreliable and poor service and no better than Kallada!! These greedy owners do not maintain their buses well and only want to collect money. Its a disgrace for the Volvo brand to be associated with such third rate service. Bloody Thieves !!!

Kallada Volvo and all Kerala bound Volvo's are generally driven by stupid drivers who are not only a menace to their own passengers but also for others on the highway. Between the Salem to Coimbatore one can find these Volvo's driven off the road at least one every month.

Load air horn in midnight, cutting of in front of your vehicle and generally total lack of vehicle control.
