EXCLUSIVE: Two Volvo B7R buses caught racing at 125km/h!

EXCLUSIVE SCOOP!

For all those who doubted the capabilities of the Volvo B7R bus, or those who thought these are limited to 103km/h as per the company’s website, here is an exclusive video, caught for the first time in India – video evidence of not one, but two 9400 series Volvo B7R buses racing on the Mumbai-Pune expressway.
Finally after repeated attempts, I managed to catch these buses, belonging to MSRTC (Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation-blue color) and A.P (Andhra Pradesh-white color) tourism, racing towards Mumbai, from Pune one fine morning.
The video is quite long but sit patiently and watch the whole action. There are numerous times when my Xylo’s speedometer showed 124-126km/h, with these buses right in front of me. Speeds of 110-115km/h were common.
Also note the starting of the video. I was cruising at 90-95km/h when I happened to see the buses approach in my RVM. That is when I switched on my mobile camera for evidence. I pity those passengers in the two buses!!

And we thought only private operators indulged in such dangerous antics on the highways...
Feel free to comment..

125km/h! That is something. No wonder they are beating trains by 4-5 hours on the Mumbai-Bangalore route that too at 105-110km/h speeds only

What! 125 km/hr and still pumping above. But inside the bus no passengers knew about it.
So this is why operators are putting volvos in unimaginable long routes, say,

kesineni travels started HYD-BAN-COIMBATORE in just 16 hrs 30 mns (as per their website). KSRTC doing MYS-MUM, PAULO TRAVELS CHE-BAN-GOA, APSRTC BAN-VIJ-VIS, KPN TRAVELS BAN-MADURAI-BAN (900 KMS UP & DOWN). ALSO HEARD SOME OPERATOR FROM ANDHRA IS GONNA START TRIVANDRUM-TIRUPATI DAILY TRIPS. Who knows may be we can see a B7R (probably B9R) running between Mumbai and New Delhi 1300 kms+ !!

My question is these buses keep on running for 20-22 hours daily and given merely 2 to 4 hours rest and still its capable of giving the same Power Output, runs A/C unit, Tyres absorbing the heat. Will it be same on Tata Hispano or Globus? Even the newbee Swaraj Mazda Isuzu? Or the King of Kings Mercedes Benz?

Just a small correction
9400 series AFAIK is known as B9R

. said...

abijith: i guess its for both B7R and B9R. The first version B7Rs were called Mark I, followed by II and III and finally the 9400 series.

anonymous: sometimes u have to do such things to catch ppl who r at fault. the volvo guys (company guys) have already contacted me and thankfully must have taken these guys to task for putting lives of 80-90ppl at risk
